Hailing from Mutare, Zimbabwe, Kudakwashe “Kuda” Sengai established himself as a standout junior tennis player in his home country, earning numerous accolades along the way. Notably, Kuda clinched the Gold medal at the Zimbabwe National Youth Games in 2007 and secured a spot on the Zimbabwe Schools National Team.
Upon relocating to the United States, Kuda received a tennis scholarship to Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU). During his time at OLLU, he excelled as a top-tier singles and doubles player, playing a pivotal role in guiding the Saints to their inaugural NAIA national ranking.
With a wealth of experience in developing tennis programs across all levels, Kuda has served as a coach at esteemed facilities such as the Topnotch Resort in Stowe, VT, the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch (Newks) in New Braunfels, TX, and the Roddick Tennis Foundation. Before assuming the role of Director of Tennis at the Spring Branch Tennis Association, Kuda served as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Coach at OLLU during the 2014-’15 season.
Kuda has a proven track record of developing players who have successfully transitioned to college-level tennis, and he has also led junior teams to state and national tournaments. He holds coaching certifications from Zimbabwe, is PTR certified, and is a USPPA Pickleball Professional.
